Information

The oldest French restaurant in London. Mon Plaisir on Monmouth Street near Covent Garden has been the home of the finest French cuisine for over half a century. Mon Plaisir has an authentic French ambience throughout, from the knowledgeable and attentive staff to the pewter topped bar, originally featured in the lounge of a Lyonnais brothel. Each of the four dining rooms is completely individual, yet resonates with the nostalgic atmosphere of decadent France in the 1940's. Just as genuine and hedonistic as the decor, the food at Mon Plaisir boasts the best of traditional and modern French cuisine. Specialities of the a la carte menu include Coq au Vin, Escargots de Bourgogne, Gratiné à l'Oignon, Daube de Poulpe, Moules Mariniere and Entrecote Grillée, Pommes Allumettes, Sauce Béarnaise and of course Steak Tartare. Mon Plaisir also offers a three course monthly menu. Every second Monday evening of every month, we hold an evening complemented with live accordion music throughout the night. Mon Plaisir also specialises in the Theatre crowd offering a 2 or 3 course menu guaranteed to have you fed and out in plenty of time for your show. This delightful blend of delicious cuisine and genuine ambience has led to Mon Plaisir being acknowledged in some of the finest restaurant guides, including Hardens, Square Meal, Via Michelin and The Good Food Guide.
